For clients who want a family lawyer who is approachable, thorough and genuinely invested in helping them understand what comes next, Amy Wrigglesworth brings a thoughtful and practical approach to her role as a Solicitor at Shanahan Family Law.
Amy works across family law matters involving parenting arrangements, property settlements and the broader issues that arise following separation. She understands that for many clients, engaging a family lawyer comes at a time when life feels uncertain and decisions can carry significant personal and financial consequences. Her approach is therefore centered on providing clear advice, careful preparation and practical guidance so clients understand both their legal position and the pathway ahead.
Before moving into legal practice, Amy spent three years working in the auditing of self managed superannuation funds in Victoria. That background, together with her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Accounting, gives Amy a particularly strong foundation when working with the financial information, documentation and detail that frequently underpin property matters.
Amy combines that analytical mindset with a warm and down to earth manner. She understands that good family law representation is not simply about knowing the legislation or preparing documents. It is about listening carefully, identifying what genuinely matters to the client and helping them make considered decisions rather than becoming consumed by the conflict surrounding their separation.
After relocating from Victoria to the Sunshine Coast in 2023, Amy joined Shanahan Family Law and developed her family law experience within the firm before progressing into practice as a solicitor. That progression has given her valuable exposure to the practical management of family law matters and an understanding of the importance of preparation, communication and collaboration throughout a client’s matter.
Amy holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Accounting from Deakin University and completed her Practical Legal Training through the College of Law.
Outside the office, Amy has embraced Sunshine Coast life and enjoys being active, reading at the beach, spending time with friends and, most importantly, spending time with her golden retriever, Benji. She is considerably less enthusiastic about celery, frogs, snakes and lizards.
